Racing Incident Report

DON INSIGHT was withdrawn on 27.11.01 on veterinary grounds (swollen near hind leg) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter FOREVER BEST (W M Lai). Before racing again, DON INSIGHT will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. On arriving at the Start, it was noted that TABBRIS had its tongue over the bit. This was corrected before the horse was loaded. After the race, TABBRIS had its tongue over the bit. Whilst parading before the start, LUCKY SUPERSTAR was kicked by another runner. LUCKY SUPERSTAR was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultation it was decided the horse was suitable to race. On jumping, SUPER FORCE was checked when crowded between LUCKY SUPERSTAR which shifted out and FRENCH CONNECTION which shifted in. VICTORY MOUNT left the gates awkwardly with its head up. On jumping, GOLDEN SPIRIT bounded in the air. About the 500 Metres, DANCING SOUND became unbalanced and lost its position when crowded between TABBRIS which was racing ungenerously and shifted away from the rail slightly and GOLDEN SPIRIT (D Dunn) which momentarily shifted to the inside of the heels of D'OR WIN. D Dunn was advised to exercise more care and endeavour to avoid being responsible for this type of crowding. When DANCING SOUND lost its position about the 500 Metres, some inconvenience was caused to VICTORY MOUNT. TABBRIS made the latter part of the Home Turn awkwardly, became unbalanced, shifted ground and bumped GOLDEN SPIRIT which was momentarily awkward on the heels of D'OR WIN. When TABBRIS and GOLDEN SPIRIT came together on the turn, VICTORY MOUNT shifted out abruptly, causing inconvenience to DANCING SOUND. The performance of FOREVER BEST which tailed off was considered to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. W C Marwing (HAPPY FOREVER) said the horse in his opinion pulled up lame in its off side front leg. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said HAPPY FOREVER was lame in its off side front leg. Before racing again, HAPPY FOREVER will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
