Racing Incident Report

After arriving behind the gates, TRIPLE DRAGON became somewhat difficult to manage, dislodged D Whyte, then made contact with the running rail. The horse was remounted. The Veterinary Surgeon had the horse trotted up, examined and following the necessary consultations he decided TRIPLE DRAGON was suitable to race. When the gates opened, KEWINS stood flat-footed, came out very awkwardly and as a consequence of this lost a lot of ground. Mr D Hill, trainer of the horse, was told should it perform similarly again, it may be necessary to take some action against it. TRIPLE DRAGON left the gates awkwardly and just after the start bumped the hindquarters of SPECTACULAR WIN. When the gates opened, ASIA STAR bounded in the air, shifted out and bumped DRAGON WIN. MAGIC WIN bounded in the air at the start. Near the winning post the first time, TRIPLE DRAGON was crowded for room between GLOBAL RUNNER which was inclined to be shifting in away from ASIA STAR and SPECTACULAR WIN which was being ridden along in an endeavour to go forward. Just after the winning post the first time, TRIPLE DRAGON got its head up when unable to hold its position between SPECTACULAR WIN and ASIA STAR. In the early stages, SPECTACULAR WIN, which was racing wide, was inclined to get its head up and lay out. Near the 200 Metres, TRIPLE DRAGON was momentarily tight for room between DRAGON WIN and OBRIGADO. Also near the 200 Metres, when A Suborics (OBRIGADO) was shifting the whip into his right hand, his arm made contact with the near side blinker cup fitted to TRIPLE DRAGON. About 100 Metres out, MEGA-FIGHTER was shifted towards the inside of MISSION POSSIBLE to go forward, in doing so brushed MAGIC WIN. TRIPLE DRAGON was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
