Racing Incident Report

LOK WAH TREASURE was slowly away, then when coming from the gates threw its head about, as a consequence of this got well back. NOT GUILTY jumped awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and bumped VENETIAN MASTER which on jumping threw its head about. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, MEMBERS GLORY hung out. A Suborics (EXCELLENCE FOREVER) said the intention had been to ride the horse somewhere in about 4th or 5th position if possible. He said EXCELLENCE FOREVER left the gates satisfactorily, but then because of the early pace in the race was not able to take up a position as anticipated and got further back than planned. He went on to say he lost further ground about the 1600 Metres when LOK WAH TREASURE, which had been slow to begin then made ground to be racing on his outside and inside FABULOUS, shifted across his running to a position on the rail. The explanations submitted by A Suborics were accepted. C Soumillon (JADE RUYI) explained he had been riding the horse in some of its recent work. He said the horse had worked generously and it was anticipated by the stable JADE RUYI would be competitive in today's race. He said however JADE RUYI only travelled satisfactorily until about the 1200 Metres, it was there he had to put the horse under full pressure to try and keep up, JADE RUYI did not respond and in the Straight as the horse was dropping out and he thought there was something wrong with it, he did not ride JADE RUYI out in his normal fashion. JADE RUYI was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, JADE RUYI was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. However, before the horse can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. TELECOM TWIN was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, TELECOM TWIN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was blowing heavily and was in a somewhat distressed condition. An endoscopic examination was carried out. This revealed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before TELECOM TWIN can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. LOK WAH TREASURE, EXCELLENCE FOREVER, FABULOUS and ENORMOUS WAY were sent for sampling.
