Racing Incident Report

From a gate towards the outside, LATIN DANCER was steadied, shifted across behind other runners to take up a position closer to the rail but towards the rear. On leaving the gates, PEARL AND GOLD threw its head about. PACKING ANGEL missed the start slightly and then just after the break was bumped by ROYAL TREASURE. Approaching the 800 Metres, ROYAL TREASURE was unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of STAR DRAGON. On straightening, LATIN DANCER was steadied and shifted out to find running. For some distance near the 400 Metres, STAR DRAGON was held up behind GOLDIE, then near the 300 Metres was shifted in abruptly to find running. After the 200 Metres, STAR DRAGON was shifted to the outside of JOYOUS CHEERS to find running and go forward, in doing so bumped GOLDIE, causing that horse to become momentarily unbalanced. Then in the run to the winning post, STAR DRAGON was inclined to shift out. About the 400 Metres, FLYING SUCCESS, which was awkwardly placed behind HONOURABLE and tight inside APPLIED SUPREME, was accidentally hit on the head by the whip of M Cahill (APPLIED SUPREME). When shifting out to obtain running, FLYING SUCCESS made contact with APPLIED SUPREME which shifted ground, causing some inconvenience to BUTTERFORD. In the Straight, BUTTERFORD hung in and proved very difficult to ride out. About the 200 Metres, MULTIPERFECTION, which was closing the race off quite strongly, was steadied and shifted in to avoid APPLIED SUPREME.
