Racing Incident Report

SPIRITUAL KING was withdrawn on 2.12.02 on veterinary grounds (abnormal blood count) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NOBLE VICTORY (K C Tsang). The start of the race was considerably delayed as NORTHERN MAGNATE had to be re-plated after arriving at the Start. On jumping, GO GET THEM and NOBLE VICTORY came together. Near the 700 Metres, LOVE ON EARTH was momentarily awkward on the heels of THE GRAND ROOF which shifted out slightly away from SHOW WIN. Rounding the Home Turn, GO GET THEM was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FOREVER CHARMING which was giving ground. In the run to the winning post, LOVE ON EARTH was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GO GET THEM which had a tendency to lay in. Near the winning post, MR HAPPY, which was closing strongly, was unbalanced when close to the heels of THE GRAND ROOF. GOOD CHANCE and FOREVER CHARMING were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. Veterinary examinations of GOOD CHANCE and FOREVER CHARMING after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities. The performance of FOREVER CHARMING which tailed off was considered to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily and competitively in an official barrier trial and must pass an official veterinary examination. THE GRAND ROOF, NORTHERN MAGNATE and GO GET THEM were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported THE GRAND ROOF had sustained a cut to its mouth.
