Racing Incident Report

On leaving the gates, LUCKY KING and C'EST LA VIE came together, GLOBAL FORTUNE was slowly away. CHOCOLATE TYCOON missed the start rather badly. Just after the 800 Metres, C'EST LA VIE was checked when awkwardly placed just inside the heels of ONE MORE ROUND. In view of all the circumstances, no action was taken. Just after the 700 Metres, LUCKY KING was checked when crowded by C'EST LA VIE, which when being ridden hard to hold its position, got its head on the side and hung in away from HAPPY YEARS. The occurrence was accidental and no action was taken. Some inconvenience was caused to GLOBAL FORTUNE and CHOCOLATE TYCOON which were following. When questioned, G Schofield (FLASHING STAR) said the horse left the gates well, early on he steadied in anticipation that he might have been able to get in and find some cover. However, the speed did not go on as quickly as he thought it would, horses crossed from his outside and because of the manner in which he had ridden early in the race, he got further back than he would have liked and approaching and rounding the Home Turn was obliged to cover quite a bit of ground. The explanations submitted by G Schofield were accepted. FLASHING STAR, MY FORTUNE and ONE MORE ROUND were sent for sampling.
