Racing Incident Report

SUNNY RIVIERA and DEEP PURPLE were slow to begin. MAIN ATTRACTION began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall, then made contact with STRATEGIC SELECT. EARL GREY began awkwardly. Y T Cheng (MAIN ATTRACTION) explained the horse began fairly from a barrier towards the middle and he immediately allowed STRATEGIC SELECT which had drawn to his outside to cross him so as to provide him with cover. He said STRATEGIC SELECT was then able to continue in to a two wide position, however, he was not able to follow it in as he had TAMAR racing to his inside. He said running towards the first turn he held his position to the outside of TAMAR and was being provided with cover by TURBOJET. He said approaching the Home Turn he shifted out into the clear, however, MAIN ATTRACTION did not respond to his riding. He said in his opinion MAIN ATTRACTION did not handle the rain affected track conditions today and was overall most disappointing. MAIN ATTRACTION was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, MAIN ATTRACTION was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. CHEERS CHINA, which tailed out, was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of CHEERS CHINA after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of CHEERS CHINA was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHEERS CHINA will be required to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WISE CHOICE and DEEP PURPLE were sent for sampling.
