Racing Incident Report

The start of this race was slightly delayed while a plastic bag which had blown on the track near the 800 Metres was removed. After arriving at the Start, it was noted SIGHT CHAMPION had its tongue over the bit. This was re-positioned before the horse was boxed. When the gates opened, CIRCUIT KINGDOM got its head up and began awkwardly, causing W C Marwing to lose the use of his right stirrup. ALWAYS WELCOME was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was bumped by MAJIN BUU which shifted out after being bumped by GRANDWAY SHUTTLE. YACHT MASTER began awkwardly. Over the concluding stages, BEAUTY PLUS was held up and unable to obtain clear running behind GRANDWAY SHUTTLE and inside the hindquarters of GOLDEN FARM. Consequently BEAUTY PLUS was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Also over the concluding stages, SIGHT CHAMPION hung in. R Fradd (MASTER YING) explained he had been instructed to ride the horse with cover if possible. He said he had been advised the horse might over-race if it was ridden in the early stages to maintain a forward position. He said MASTER YING began nicely, he immediately steadied his mount in an endeavour to obtain a position behind ALWAYS WELCOME. He said when he did this, MASTER YING dropped the bit, got further back than was intended and failed to respond to his riding when he then endeavoured to make ground. R Fradd was advised while the Stewards appreciate where possible he should follow riding instructions, he must ride his race to suit the circumstances. ALWAYS WELCOME, GRAND FIGHTER and SIGHT CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
