Racing Incident Report

EL VIENTO began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of KNIGHT TEMPLAR. When the gates opened, DRAGON WIN put its head up. After this, DRAGON WIN raced wide and without cover throughout. Shortly after the start, BRAVISSIMO was crowded for room between ALWAYS ZIETEN and KNIGHT TEMPLAR. For some distance after the 500 Metres, COSMO SUCCESS raced tight inside NORTHERN FLYER and on several occasions became unbalanced as a result of the two horses bumping. Shortly after straightening, COSMO SUCCESS was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running on the outside of ALWAYS ZIETEN and inside NORTHERN FLYER. Near the 300 Metres, EL VIENTO was bumped and carried wider by TELECOM BABE which shifted to the outside of DRAGON WIN to find clear running. BRAVISSIMO, which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of EL VIENTO's heels, was steadied and shifted out as a consequence. For some distance approaching and passing the 100 Metres, JUST IN TIME was held up and unable to find clear running between NORTHERN FLYER and ALWAYS ZIETEN. To obtain a run, JUST IN TIME was shifted to the inside of ALWAYS ZIETEN, then near the winning post again was held up when close to the heels of EVEREST. In the Straight, KING OF THE TURF hung in. After the 100 Metres, KNIGHT TEMPLAR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of KING OF THE TURF which continued to shift in while hanging despite S Dye stopping riding and endeavouring to straighten his mount. Despite WHATA FEELING holding second position, G Mossé was told to ensure he rides his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race wherever possible. COSMO SUCCESS and WHATA FEELING were sent for sampling.
