Racing Incident Report

GRANDIOSO, which had been fractious in the barrier, began very awkwardly, shifted out, made heavy contact with the outside gate of its stall and consequently lost a significant amount of ground. COOL SWING began awkwardly. EVER MORE was slow to begin. On jumping, ARROGANCE and GOLDEN FARM bumped. Near the 300 Metres, CENDAMY was momentarily crowded for room between ARROGANCE and GOLDEN FARM, both of which shifted a little ground. Then near the 50 Metres, CENDAMY was steadied away from the heels of WISHMASTER which shifted in slightly. COOL SWING was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, COOL SWING was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. SUPER CHARGE, LUCKY TRIO and ARROGANCE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Report (released on 3 November 2003)
COOL SWING, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. COOL SWING was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Oughton this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be mildly lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, COOL SWING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
