Racing Incident Report
As the gates opened, ABLE EAGLE put its head down and began awkwardly. FANTASTICO began awkwardly and shortly after the start bumped with MANIFEST. After this, MANIFEST shifted out and bumped SUPREME MOLLY. AMBITION was slow to begin. At the 700 Metres, AMO was steadied when crowded for room inside FANTASTICO which was carried in by MANIFEST which in turn was carried in by SUPREME MOLLY which was crowded for room by GRAND FIGHTER which shifted in momentarily. No action was taken. For some distance after this, AMO raced awkwardly inside the heels of FANTASTICO and near the 600 Metres was steadied. At the 400 Metres, ABLE EAGLE was steadied when crowded for room inside JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE which got its head on the side and momentarily shifted in away from GRAND FIGHTER. Shortly after straightening, AMO was steadied when disappointed for running inside FANTASTICO (J Holder) which shifted in. J Holder was advised to exercise care when shifting ground. In the Straight, VICTORY MARBLE was inclined to lay in. J Holder said he had been instructed to ride FANTASTICO in a forward position. He said FANTASTICO did not begin that well, he rode it along for a short distance, however, a number of runners to his inside were showing clearly superior speed, he therefore elected to steady FANTASTICO and shift it across to obtain cover. He said he was hopeful of following SWISS LAD in the run, however, in the middle stages he raced in restricted room to the inside of MANIFEST and consequently got further back than was intended. J Holder was told his explanation would be recorded. AMBITION was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, AMBITION was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being permitted to race again, AMBITION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SWISS LAD and SENSIBLE WAY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted FANTASTICO had sustained wounds to the right hind cannon and fetlock.
