Racing Incident Report

Near the 800 Metres, KINDRED SPIRITS, which had been awkwardly placed close to the heels of SEASONS KNACK, shifted out and commenced to improve around the field. When KINDRED SPIRITS shifted out, inconvenience was caused to SPECIFIC SORCEROR which was bumped and carried wider. After this, SPECIFIC SORCEROR commenced to hang in and near the 700 Metres caused crowding on its inside to FORTUNE DANCER and GREENMORE. As a result of this crowding, FORTUNE DANCER was unable to maintain its position. On straightening, PRIZE WINNER dipped. Shortly after straightening, THE PIONEER was bumped by KINDRED SPIRITS which shifted in. Near the 200 Metres, PRIZE WINNER, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was shifted to the outside of KINDRED SPIRITS. After the 200 Metres, SUPER COMBED was steadied and shifted to the outside of DONGGUAN VICTORY into clear running. The performance of SPECIFIC SORCEROR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SPECIFIC SORCEROR will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SPECIFIC SORCEROR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, SPECIFIC SORCEROR was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying signs of pharyngeal collapse. SUPER COMBED and PRIZE WINNER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that PRIZE WINNER had returned distressed.
