Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, COTTON BALL was fractious in the stalls. Before being allowed to race again, COTTON BALL will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. As the start was effected, PURPLE GOLD put its head down. As a result of this, Apprentice M W Leung, the rider of the horse, immediately took his right hand way from the reins to take hold of the adjoining partition. As a consequence of this, PURPLE GOLD was slow to begin and lost a considerable amount of ground. OLIVE OR TWIST began awkwardly and shortly after the start shifted in and hampered RISING WIN. After travelling a short distance, RAINBOW DIAMOND shifted in and was momentarily awkwardly placed on the heels of AURELIAN. For some distance near the 500 Metres, AURELIAN was inclined to lay out. Near the 200 Metres, RAINBOW DIAMOND, which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of MR BEAUTIFUL to obtain clear running, was checked when disappointed for running between AURELIAN and MR BEAUTIFUL which also shifted out from behind JUSTINIAN to obtain clear running. RISING WIN, which was following RAINBOW DIAMOND, was inconvenienced in consequence. No action was taken. Shortly after this incident, AURELIAN was steadied when crowded for room between OLIVE OR TWIST and MR BEAUTIFUL which was taken out slightly by JUSTINIAN. Near the 100 Metres, UPPA HAND hung in away from RAINBOW DIAMOND and in doing so made contact with STEPS AHEAD. AURELIAN was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of AURELIAN after the race did not show any significant findings. HANDBAG PREMIER and RAINBOW DIAMOND were sent for sampling.
