Racing Incident Report

After being mounted in the Parade Ring, ROCKET WIN became fractious and fell over. ROCKET WIN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of ROCKET WIN. Before being allowed to race again, ROCKET WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MR GENKI began awkwardly, bounded in the air and lost ground at the start. WITHALLMYHEART began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. As the gates opened, ONE MORE ROUND lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin. On jumping, HUANG PU DRAGON was bumped by CHAMP DE UNION which shifted out. At the 800 Metres, ONE MORE ROUND, which was hanging in, was unable to hold its position inside HUANG PU DRAGON. Near the 700 Metres, MR GENKI got its head on the side, hung out and was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of HUANG PU DRAGON which itself at this time shifted in slightly. In the Straight, when giving ground, HUANG PU DRAGON hung in. When questioned regarding the poor performance of MR GENKI, F Coetzee said the horse today was again fractious in the stalls and as a consequence was slow to begin. He said in the past MR GENKI's best performances have been when it has jumped cleanly and been able to obtain a soft run in the race. He said today after missing the start MR GENKI did not appreciate the surface and the associated kickback. MR GENKI and SUPREME STAR were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MR GENKI and SUPREME STAR after the race did not show any significant findings. WIN FORTUNE, HAPPY WINNING and SOUND OF SILENCE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 26 September 2005)
SUPREME STAR, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. SUPREME STAR was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer K L Man yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
