Racing Incident Report

SUNRISE STRIKER and GOOD TRIO were slow to begin. On jumping, MOONGLOW stumbled, shifted out and bumped JUSTINIAN which as a result lost ground. Near the 1200 Metres, BAYVIEW LAD became unbalanced after making contact with the hindquarters of CROISSANT. Also near the 1200 Metres, BRAVERY LUCK was steadied away from the heels of JUSTINIAN. From after the 800 Metres until near the 600 Metres, ON SHAN EXPRESS lost ground when being steadied away from the heels of SUNRISE STRIKER which itself was being steadied away from the heels of MOONGLOW. Shortly after straightening, GOOD TRIO was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of BRAVERY LUCK. G Mossé (BRAVERY LUCK) said the intention had been to ride the horse in around midfield from the outside gate, however, after being slow to begin he elected to shift across behind runners. He said after this BRAVERY LUCK proved difficult to settle. Apprentice K L Chui (MOONGLOW) said after entering the Back Straight the horse became unbalanced in its action and commenced to give ground. He said MOONGLOW continued to give ground and finished tailed out. The performance of MOONGLOW was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, MOONGLOW will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. D Whyte (CROISSANT) said after entering the Back Straight the horse appeared reluctant to stride out. He said after entering the Home Straight CROISSANT became unbalanced in its action when giving ground. The performance of CROISSANT was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, CROISSANT will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUNRISE STRIKER, MOONGLOW, CROISSANT and GOOD TRIO were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, it was reported MOONGLOW had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of SUNRISE STRIKER, CROISSANT and GOOD TRIO after the race did not show any significant findings. KINGSTON GLORY, SPEED OF LIGHT and ON SHAN EXPRESS were sent for sampling.
