Racing Incident Report

While in the saddling stalls, ELECTRONICS SPUR shifted its right hind plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. When the gates opened, ELECTRONICS SPUR bounded in the air, then became unbalanced and as a consequence lost ground. FAMOUS DANCER began awkwardly and became unbalanced. Because of this, O Doleuze, the horse's rider, momentarily lost the use of his left stirrup. FIVE GRAINS was slow to begin. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, FAMOUS DANCER got its head on the side and hung in away from WONG'S FAVOURITE, causing crowding to DASH AHEAD. Approaching the turn at the 1000 Metres, when being steadied, KOWLOON FIT got its head up, shifted out and lost ground. This caused some inconvenience to HEALTHY WEALTHY which at this time was proving difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, EXCELLENT BOY was steadied away from the heels of DORDENMA. An inquiry into the reason for DORDENMA being checked at the 250 Metres was adjourned until the Sha Tin racemeeting to be held next Saturday 21 October 2006. Near the 200 Metres, AMPLE GAINS was inconvenienced by DASH AHEAD (Apprentice K T Yeung) which at this time was shifting to the outside of SUNBELL into clear running. Apprentice Yeung was warned regarding extending his arms away from his body when shifting his mounts in similar circumstances. In the Straight, KOWLOON FIT hung in. CALIFORNIA BISHOP was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA BISHOP after the race did not show any significant findings. DORDENMA, EXCELLENT BOY and FIVE GRAINS were sent for sampling.
