Racing Incident Report

TREASURE RAIDERS, which was fractious in the stalls, was slow to begin. THREE CLUBS was slow to begin. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, THREE CLUBS was steadied away from the heels of TREASURE RAIDERS. At the 1100 Metres, HANDBAG PREMIER, which had been racing wide and without cover in a forward position, was ridden to go forward and cross to the lead. Near the 1000 Metres, TREASURE RAIDERS got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of RIGHT CHOICE which itself was momentarily steadied away from the heels of KINGSTON WINNER. In the Back Straight, TREASURE RAIDERS proved difficult to settle. After the 600 Metres, RIGHT CHOICE got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SUNRISE RAINBOW. Prior to straightening, LIVERBIRD was steadied when crowded for room between KINGSTON WINNER and MILITARY OPTION, both of which shifted ground. In the early part of the Straight, THREE CLUBS proved difficult to shift out to obtain running. For the major part of the race, THUNDER MAN travelled wide and without cover. Apprentice K L Chui (LIVERBIRD) was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said he obtained a forward position as instructed, however, after straightening LIVERBIRD did not respond to his riding. LIVERBIRD and SERIOUS PLAY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LIVERBIRD and SERIOUS PLAY after the race did not show any significant findings. VINCERE and KINGSTON WINNER were sent for sampling.
