Racing Incident Report

While being paraded, ON SHAN BRAVE shifted its right front plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. AGILITY, SUPREME GAINS and TIME SUPREME were slow to begin. DASH AHEAD began awkwardly and lost ground. From the outside barrier, NORTHERNER was taken across behind runners in the early stages. At the 1200 Metres, SIKANDER was left racing without cover. At the 700 Metres, NORTHERNER was steadied when awkwardly placed inside DASH AHEAD which at this time was carried in slightly by TIME SUPREME. The performances of ON SHAN BRAVE and PUERTO RICO, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ON SHAN BRAVE and PUERTO RICO will both have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AGILITY and SIKANDER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of AGILITY and SIKANDER after the race did not show any significant findings. TIME SUPREME and BULLISH CASH were sent for sampling. After the race, M W Leung, the rider of PUERTO RICO, reported his saddle shifted to the left shortly after the start.
