Racing Incident Report
CALIFORNIA BISHOP knuckled on jumping, FANTUZZI was slow to begin. Near the 1500 Metres, LHOJONG was steadied when crowded for room between TOM'S SIX and EQUATOR KID which got its head on the side and shifted in away from ALICE TOO. At the 1500 Metres, CONGRATS blundered after striking the heels of NORTHERNER. Near the 1400 Metres, VITAL KING was steadied away from the heels of LHOJONG which shifted in when barely clear. In the early stages, ALICE TOO proved difficult to settle as did NORTHERNER which was racing wide and without cover. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, PLASTIC POLYMER and EQUATOR KID bumped. Near the 300 Metres, VITAL KING was shifted to the outside of FANTUZZI to obtain clear running. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, LHOJONG was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Passing the 200 Metres, INFINITE DELIGHT got its head on the side and shifted in. Because of this, M Nunes, the horse's rider, stopped riding and straightened his mount. INFINITE DELIGHT then shifted wider on the track. Also passing the 200 Metres, GOLD FIELD hung out and shifted wider. C Soumillon (TOM'S SIX) said after the 600 Metres he shifted out from behind INFINITE DELIGHT to ensure he was able to make his run on the outside of horses as instructed. He said TOM'S SIX then commenced to lay out, however, as the horse was travelling comfortably he elected to continue allowing it to stride along. He said because of this TOM'S SIX shifted wider on the track making the Home Turn. GOLD FIELD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GOLD FIELD after the race did not show any significant findings. TOM'S SIX, VITAL KING and PLASTIC POLYMER were sent for sampling.
