Racing Incident Report
On jumping, MULTI-WIN SPIRIT threw its head about and was taken back. Also on jumping, MIRACLE DRAGON was bumped by CHALLENGER which shifted in. After this, MIRACLE DRAGON was taken across behind runners. BALL OF FIRE began awkwardly. With the intention of being ridden with cover from a wide gate, ESPOIR D'OR after beginning well was taken back, however, was not able to obtain a position with cover and travelled wide throughout. On straightening, MULTI-WIN SPIRIT steadied away from the heels of FRAMES DEPOT which shifted out. Also on straightening, THREE CLUBS was disappointed for running between MULTI-WIN SPIRIT and FRAMES DEPOT. After this, THREE CLUBS was shifted to the inside of FRAMES DEPOT and was steadied when disappointed for running between that horse and MIRACLE DRAGON which at this time shifted out. THREE CLUBS then again shifted out, bumped MULTI-WIN SPIRIT and was steadied when disappointed for running between that horse and FRAMES DEPOT. In the early part of the Straight, MIRACLE DRAGON had some difficulty obtaining clear running. At the 350 Metres, KNIGHT TEMPLAR was steadied when having difficulty obtaining clear running between KA KA SMART and MAIN ATTRACTION which at this time commenced to give ground. Near the 200 Metres, THREE CLUBS was awkwardly placed behind DONGGUAN VICTORY and inside ESPOIR D'OR which was giving ground. S K Sit (BALL OF FIRE) was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said BALL OF FIRE travelled comfortably in the rear as is usual, however, after straightening he shifted his mount to the outside, however, the horse kept on only one-paced. BALL OF FIRE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BALL OF FIRE after the race did not show any significant findings. KA KA SMART and CHEERFUL HAPPINESS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted WATCHMAN had blood present at its left nostril. An endoscopic examination showed the horse's trachea to be clean and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled. Also after the race, it was reported CHALLENGER had sustained a laceration to the left hind heel.
