Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, M Nunes expressed concern over the action of HONOUR SUPREME. HONOUR SUPREME was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. SUNRISE RAINBOW and FORTUNE WHEEL were taken across behind runners from outside barriers. BUDDIES SPIRIT began awkwardly, then lost further ground when crowded for room between KAISER'S CHOIX and SURE HERO which shifted in. In the early stages, NEW TRIUMPH from a wide barrier was ridden along and after showing insufficient speed to cross runners to its inside was taken to a position with cover at the 1000 Metres, then for a considerable distance proved difficult to settle. Near the 800 Metres, SURE HERO was steadied away from the heels of LAMBRO. When SURE HERO steadied, BUDDIES SPIRIT which was following and proving difficult to settle got its head up and became badly unbalanced. Approaching the 400 Metres, NEW TRIUMPH lost ground when following MACAROON which at this time was giving ground. On straightening, SUNRISE RAINBOW was steadied when crowded for room inside SURE HERO which was racing tight inside NEW TRIUMPH (D Whyte) which at this time had been shifted to the inside of the heels of MACAROON. D Whyte was told to exercise care. For the major part of the race, MACAROON travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, C Soumillon (LAMBRO) explained after the 100 Metres when he was pushing his mount out, his goggles over his left eye came into contact with his hand. He said the position the goggles moved into caused him some discomfort. He said because of this near the 50 Metres he re-positioned the goggles. LAMBRO, BEAUTY PLUS and KAISER'S CHOIX were sent for sampling.
