Racing Incident Report
STALLION SUPREME began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, PACHINKO, which had begun awkwardly, and SKY WALKER lost ground when crowded for room between DON FELIPE and SHINING DRAGON which on jumping shifted out. At the 900 Metres, PACHINKO was steadied away from the heels of DIAMOND PRINCE. From the outside barrier in the early stages, when travelling without cover, LIONS’ FORTUNE when proving difficult to settle got its head up and raced ungenerously for a considerable distance while being steadied in an endeavour to obtain a position with cover. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, LIONS’ FORTUNE, which continued to race ungenerously, got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of SMART KNIGHT. After this, LIONS’ FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, SHINING DRAGON, which had commenced to hang out, shifted out and was checked to avoid the heels of STALLION SUPREME which got its head up and lost ground while being steadied to allow WASABISABI to cross. After this, SHINING DRAGON continued to hang out, causing GUAN DAO to be held wide and race without cover. GUAN DAO hung out in the middle stages and particularly making the turns. From shortly after straightening until near the 200 Metres, LOYAL ARMY, which in the Straight hung in, was held up and unable to improve. At the 250 Metres, SMART KNIGHT, which had been having difficulty obtaining clear running while racing greenly, was checked when disappointed for running between GUAN DAO and SKY WALKER. After this, SMART KNIGHT continued to race greenly for the remainder of the race. The performance of DON FELIPE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DON FELIPE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LIONS' FORTUNE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, LIONS' FORTUNE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LIONS’ FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NATURAL FLAME and STALLION SUPREME were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported SKY WALKER had bled from both nostrils.
