Racing Incident Report

LUCKY BO BO was withdrawn on 3.2.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DAILY DOUBLE (B Doyle). Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY BO BO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ELECTRONIC MASTER began awkwardly, became unbalanced and lost ground. FEEL-SO-GOOD was slow into stride. TOUT VA BIEN began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall and lost ground. In the early stages, from the outside barrier, MARVELLOUS was taken back. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SPEED FIGHTER was steadied away from the heels of SEIZE THE DAY (M Du Plessis) which shifted in when not properly clear. M Du Plessis was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. After this incident, SPEED FIGHTER made the turn at the 1000 Metres awkwardly. DRAGON EYE also made the turn at the 1000 Metres awkwardly and got its head up. Approaching the 800 Metres, TOUT VA BIEN got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of ROYAL PORTRAIT which had been steadied away from the heels of DAILY DOUBLE which was racing greenly and in turn was steadied away from the heels of SPEED FIGHTER. After this, DAILY DOUBLE continued to race greenly, making the turn at the 600 Metres shifted out and carried FEEL-SO-GOOD wider when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPEED FIGHTER. At the 250 Metres, ROYAL PORTRAIT, which had been endeavouring to improve between MARVELLOUS and FEEL-SO-GOOD where there was insufficient room, was checked when disappointed for running. After the 250 Metres, SPEED FIGHTER was momentarily crowded for room outside BEAUTY PLUS which had been shifted to the outside of LOYAL ARMY to obtain clear running. In the Straight, LOYAL ARMY hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, KINGSTON MARBLE travelled wide and without cover. ELECTRONIC MASTER and LOYAL ARMY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ELECTRONIC MASTER and LOYAL ARMY after the race did not show any significant findings. DRAGON EYE and DAILY DOUBLE were sent for sampling.
