Racing Incident Report

WONDERFUL BLESSING began awkwardly, got its head up and lost ground. GOOD GAINS began awkwardly. From wide barriers, in the early stages, KENOBE and CLASSIC REUNION were taken back. After the 1200 Metres, AMAZING CHOICE became unbalanced when crowded for room inside VICTORY TREASURE. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, WINBO, which was racing tight inside PACIFICO, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of BILLION. Also making the turn at the 1000 Metres, GOOD GAINS brushed the running rail and became unbalanced. Shortly after straightening, GOOD GAINS was steadied and shifted to the inside of WINBO to obtain clear running. For a considerable distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, CLASSIC REUNION was not able to obtain clear running, then over the concluding stages again had difficulty obtaining clear running. As a result, CLASSIC REUNION was not able to be fully tested. At the 150 Metres, NASA PEARL, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted to the inside of WINBO to go forward. WONDERFUL BLESSING and CLASSIC REUNION were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, WONDERFUL BLESSING was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. As this was the second occasion on which WONDERFUL BLESSING has been reported to have suffered an episode of an irregular heart rhythm, the horse will now be barred from racing for six months. Prior to racing again, WONDERFUL BLESSING will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CLASSIC REUNION after the race did not show any significant findings. WARM EMBRACES and GOOD GAINS were sent for sampling.
