Racing Incident Report
When being taken back from outside barriers, POLYGOLD and SUGAR ON TOP bumped and became unbalanced shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, CHINA HERO was buffeted for room between PAR EXCELLENCE and DIAMOND RAINBOW which shifted in. This resulted in both CHINA HERO and PAR EXCELLENCE becoming unbalanced. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, FUN was slow to muster speed and approaching the 900 Metres was shifted in to avoid racing wide. Close to the finishing line, SUGAR ON TOP, which was closing off strongly, was steadied away from the heels of KARBRIDGE. In the Straight, FISHKING GLORY got its head on the side and lay in. When questioned, Apprentice C Y Ho (KARBRIDGE) stated that on entering the Back Straight he attempted to steady his mount as the pace of the race at this time was faster than he had hoped. He said despite his efforts to steady the tempo on KARBRIDGE, the horse proved difficult to settle and would not come back underneath him. KARBRIDGE, PAR EXCELLENCE and FISHKING GLORY were sent for sampling.
