Racing Incident Report

OASIS DAVIS, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 9.11.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore right fore fetlock). Before being allowed to race again, OASIS DAVIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CLASSIC BOY and SKY WALKER bumped at the start which resulted in CLASSIC BOY knuckling over and Z Purton, its rider, being dislodged shortly after the start. HAPPY CHA CHA was slow to begin. BIG CHIEF began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, SUISSE D’OR was tightened for room between HIGH LUCK and LOTUS LOVE which shifted out. From the outside barrier, WATCH FIRST was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, BIG CHIEF was steadied away from the heels of GREAT RENOWN which shifted in when barely clear. Near the 1300 Metres, HAPPY CHA CHA became unbalanced when momentarily racing tight inside BIG CHIEF. Passing the 1000 Metres, HIGH LUCK was checked when crowded for room between ELECTRONIC MASTER and HAPPY CHA CHA which shifted away from the fence when awkwardly placed close to the heels of JUN HUA. No action was taken. After being ridden along passing the 500 Metres to improve its position, HIGH LUCK was checked at the 400 Metres when crowded for room inside the riderless CLASSIC BOY. In the early part of the Straight, SKY WALKER got its head on the side and shifted out, in doing so bumped ELECTRONIC MASER near the 200 Metres. Near the 250 Metres, HIGH LUCK got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of BIG CHIEF. Close to the finishing line, GREAT RENOWN got its head on the side and shifted in towards JUN HUA. A veterinary inspection of HIGH LUCK after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that CLASSIC BOY had overreached and lost its right front plate. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSIC BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HAPPY CHA CHA and LOTUS LOVE were sent for sampling.
