Racing Incident Report

The start was delayed as SUCCESSFUL ERA proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, SUCCESSFUL ERA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. AMAZING VENTURE and LOTUS LOVE bumped at the start. LOTUS LOVE then shifted out, resulting in HO HO LIFE being crowded for room inside FORTUNE SPIRIT. CLASSIC BOY was slow to begin. In the early part of the Straight, CLASSIC BOY lay in. Because of this, its rider, Apprentice C Y Ho changed his whip into his right hand. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SUCCESSFUL ERA, G Mossé stated that his mount travelled well during the race as the tempo was, in his opinion, advantageous to SUCCESSFUL ERA. He said that as he is of the belief that SUCCESSFUL ERA is not comfortable racing between horses, he shifted his mount to the outside of runners approaching the 600 Metres to commence improving into the race. He said rounding the Home Turn SUCCESSFUL ERA briefly responded to his riding, however, shortly after straightening came off the bridle and then did not respond to his riding in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of SUCCESSFUL ERA after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of CHEERFUL DOUBLE after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had shifted its right front plate. HO HO LIFE and CLASSIC BOY were sent for sampling.
