Racing Incident Report

The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in whilst they considered if ELUSIVE PRINCE had been afforded a fair start. Evidence was taken from Jockey D Whyte and Trainer J Size. After viewing the official videos, the Stewards found that after being loaded, ELUSIVE PRINCE became fractious and reared on two occasions, then as the start was effected again reared, resulting in D Whyte, its rider, placing his right arm on the support structure. ELUSIVE PRINCE lost a considerable amount of ground and took no active part in the race. As the Stewards formed the opinion that ELUSIVE PRINCE had not had an unfair start, the horse was deemed to be a runner. Before being allowed to race again, ELUSIVE PRINCE will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. YOUNG SUPREME was slow to begin. PROSPEROUS was checked when crowded for room at the start between AMAZING SKY and STALLION SUPREME which shifted in. From the outside barrier, FUJIAN EMPEROR was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 800 Metres, FUJIAN EMPEROR proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. Approaching the 600 Metres, YOUNG SUPREME got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FORTUNE BUNNY. PROSPEROUS, which was following YOUNG SUPREME, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse and then got its head on the side and shifted out further, resulting in FUJIAN EMPEROR being taken wider. Passing the 600 Metres, YOUNG SUPREME raced tight between EKRAAR EMPEROR and REAL DRAGON which shifted out. In the early part of the Straight, YOUNG SUPREME was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FORTUNE BUNNY. A veterinary inspection of ELUSIVE PRINCE after the race did not show any significant findings. STALLION SUPREME and AMAZING SKY were sent for sampling.
