Racing Incident Report

TREASURE GOLD was withdrawn on 17.1.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter EURO SWIFTLY (B Prebble). Before being allowed to race again, TREASURE GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. VERY WELL was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, REGENCY WINNER was steadied when crowded for room between CHAMPAGNE DAYS and VIVA FIGHTER, both of which shifted ground. Near the 1300 Metres, ELEGANCE KLAMMER was steadied when crowded for room between EURO SWIFTLY (B Prebble) which shifted in and KING AL AKBAR which shifted out slightly. B Prebble was advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances. Near the 50 Metres, YUE LU TREASURE was steadied away from the heels of THE WAND which shifted in away from CHAMPAGNE DAYS which itself shifted in under pressure. Because of this, both THE WAND and YUE LU TREASURE were not properly tested over the concluding stages. EURO SWIFTLY and BEST CITY were sent for sampling. After passing the winning post, GIVE WELL ran to the outside rail, resulting in VERY WELL being severely tightened for room on the outside rail. Trainer A Lee will be advised that a warning has been placed upon GIVE WELL in respect of its manners after passing the winning post and if it were to offend in a similar manner in the future, the Stewards will give consideration to recommending to the Board of Stewards that the horse be compulsorily retired.
<19/1/2011 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that KING AL AKBAR was lame in the left hind leg and had sustained a wound to the outside of the left hind cannon on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, KING AL AKBAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that THE WAND had sustained an injury to the right front tendon on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, THE WAND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
