Racing Incident Report

FORTUNE GENERAL was withdrawn on 3.5.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (bled after track work). On arrival at the Start, it was noted that SIMPLE had lost its right front plate. This plate was refitted. SIMPLE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. When being steadied with a view to being shifted across behind runners shortly after the start from the outside barrier, HIGHLAND DRAGON got its head up on a number of occasions and for a short distance proved difficult to settle. Approaching the 1100 Metres, SUNNY FAY was crowded for room between GOOD FELLOW and RICH TAPESTRY which shifted in slightly before being corrected by its rider. In the early and middle stages, GENKI MOOCHI proved difficult to settle in the lead. HIGHLAND DRAGON had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Over the concluding stages, FINN MACCOOL raced in restricted room between PROLIFIC CHAMPION and SIMPLE. Because of this, FINN MACCOOL was not able to be properly ridden out over the concluding stages. Throughout the race, RICH TAPESTRY travelled wide and without cover. SIMPLE, KEEN MARIE and SUNNY FAY were sent for sampling.
