Racing Incident Report

NOBODY BUT YOU was buffeted for room at the start between EASTERN EMPIRE and PERFECT JOY which shifted in marginally. MR MARFACH was slow to begin. BRILLIANT CHARIOT, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin and from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start. Also from a wide barrier, SILVER DRAGON was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1300 Metres, PERFECT JOY commenced to over-race and shifted away from the heels of IMPECCABLE, resulting in PERFECT JOY making contact with ALL FRIENDS which became unbalanced. Near the 700 Metres, OUR DYNASTY got its head on the side and shifted in, resulting in MR MARFACH being momentarily crowded for room. Near the 500 Metres, IMPECCABLE, which was commencing to give ground, became unbalanced when bumped by ALL FRIENDS which shifted in slightly. Shortly after entering the Straight, RAINBOW SEEKER, which was commencing to give ground, raced tight between EASTERN EMPIRE and TOY STORY. Over the concluding stages, OUR DYNASTY again got its head on the side and lay in. For the majority of the race, RAINBOW SEEKER travelled wide and without cover. After the race, T Clark stated that, in his opinion, SILVER DRAGON did not handle the All Weather Track surface at its first time of asking in race conditions. Also after the race, C K Tong stated that it had not been intended for GRACYTOM to lead, rather it had been hoped that the horse would obtain a position behind the speed if possible. He said in the early stages he rode his mount along anticipating that IMPECCABLE would cross to race in the lead, however, GRACYTOM would not relax in the early stages and for this reason he had no alternative but to cross HANDSOME BATCHELOR to his inside and lead. He said he attempted to restrain GRACYTOM, however, the horse proved difficult to settle throughout the race. A veterinary inspection of SILVER DRAGON and GRACYTOM after the race did not show any significant findings. PERFECT JOY, YOUNG HERO and OUR DYNASTY were sent for sampling.
