Racing Incident Report

GOOD DAYS began awkwardly.
PENZANCE began very awkwardly, shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of HAPPY ROCKY, resulting in HAPPY ROCKY becoming unbalanced and PENZANCE losing ground.
Shortly after the start, PENZANCE and KING OF MONGOLIA bumped as PENZANCE improved into tight running between KING OF MONGOLIA and HAPPY ROCKY which was being steadied to obtain cover.
From the outside barrier, BUNDLE OF ENERGY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, ROMANTIC JOURNEY failed to muster speed.
After being hard ridden in the early stages, GOOD DAYS shifted in away from the heels of KING OF MONGOLIA near the 2000 Metres and then improved into tight running between that horse and ROMANTIC JOURNEY. KING OF MONGOLIA was then left racing wide and without cover after the 2000 Metres and consequently improved its position in the Straight on the first occasion to shift across and race outside the lead approaching the 1200 Metres.
After the 1900 Metres, GOOD DAYS commenced to prove very difficult to settle and near the 1800 Metres was checked away from the heels of YOU HAVE MY WORD. GOOD DAYS then shifted to the outside of that horse when continuing to prove difficult to settle. GOOD DAYS was then left racing wide and without cover approaching the 1200 Metres. After racing wide and without cover for some distance, GOOD DAYS was ridden along after the 900 Metres to shift in and race outside the lead passing the 700 Metres at which stage MCQUEEN was left racing wide and without cover.
Rounding the Home Turn, SAVANNAH WIND raced tight outside ART OF RAW which shifted out when commencing to give ground.
Passing the 300 Metres, KING OF MONGOLIA was shifted in away from the heels of ART OF RAW which continued to give ground.
S de Sousa (BUNDLE OF ENERGY) was warned against the practice of using the whip on a horse out of contention.
The performances of MCQUEEN and ART OF RAW, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MCQUEEN and ART OF RAW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of MCQUEEN and ART OF RAW immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SMART BABY and HAPPY ROCKY were sent for sampling.
<29/11/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>ART OF RAW, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. ART OF RAW was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K W Lui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, ART OF RAW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
