Racing Incident Report

GRACIOUS RYDER shifted out at the start and bumped BRAVE BABY.
LIGHTNING TREASURE began only fairly and then lost ground when crowded for room between LOOK ERAS and SIMPLY BIG which was taken out by MR RIGHT. After this, LIGHTNING TREASURE was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Shortly after the start, when being ridden along, LUCKY LUCKY shifted out abruptly and bumped PRAWN YEAH YEAH which in turn shifted out and inconvenienced TOM’S DRAGON. After this, PRAWN YEAH YEAH and TOM’S DRAGON were steadied and shifted across to obtain cover.
Near the 850 Metres, GRACIOUS RYDER was steadied away from the heels of BRAVE BABY which was taken in by MR RIGHT (M F Poon). M F Poon was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear of other runners when shifting ground and that he makes every endeavour to straighten his mounts in circumstances where they are shifting in and causing interference to other runners.
Near the 750 Metres, BRAVE BABY was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR RIGHT.
At the 650 Metres, SIMPLY BIG, which was travelling keenly, got its head up and shifted out abruptly away from the heels of PRAWN YEAH YEAH. Then making the turn near the 550 Metres, SIMPLY BIG again got its head up and shifted out across the heels of TOM’S DRAGON when racing outside GIFT OF LIFELINE which became unbalanced after shifting in towards the rail and then got its head up and shifted out towards the heels of PRAWN YEAH YEAH. LIGHTNING TREASURE, which was following, was hampered in consequence.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, BRAVE BABY shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of LUCKY LUCKY which became unbalanced.
Passing the 100 Metres, SIMPLY BIG was shifted to the outside of BRAVE BABY in an attempt to continue improving, however, was bumped by LUCKY LUCKY near the 50 Metres and consequently disappointed for running between those horses. Over the concluding stages, SIMPLY BIG was awkwardly placed inside the heels of BRAVE BABY.
Throughout the race, LUCKY LUCKY travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of LIGHTNING TREASURE, S de Sousa stated that it was intended for the horse to be slightly closer than it was in its previous start, however, after being crowded for room on jumping, this resulted in LIGHTNING TREASURE again having to race at the rear of the field. He said LIGHTNING TREASURE, despite being ridden along, had difficulty in making up ground in the early stages and after being momentarily awkwardly placed behind SIMPLY BIG near the 550 Metres, the horse then did not quicken. He said, despite being ridden out in the Straight, the horse was disappointing in its failure to finish off the race. He added LIGHTNING TREASURE felt "flat” in tonight’s race, however, he was unable to detect any issues with the horse after the race. A veterinary inspection of LIGHTNING TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, an endoscopic examination was not able to be fully undertaken due to the horse being fractious.
LIGHTNING TREASURE, SNAP FIT and GRACIOUS RYDER were sent for sampling.
