Racing Incident Report

MISTER KAOPU was slow to begin.
SUPERICH, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, began only fairly and then was bumped by THE ALFONSO which shifted in. After this, despite being ridden along, SUPERICH failed to muster speed and was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.
WORLD RECORD shifted out at the start and bumped PEARL GREEN which became badly unbalanced, shifted out and bumped MORETHANLUCKY. WORLD RECORD was then crowded for room between ENCOURAGING which shifted out marginally and PEARL GREEN which shifted in when unbalanced. After this, WORLD RECORD was shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 1100 Metres, MORETHANLUCKY shifted out away from the heels of PEARL GREEN.
Approaching the 350 Metres, DUKE DA VEGA was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SUPERICH which shifted out to obtain clear running.
Approaching the 300 Metres, JOLLY BANNER was bumped by PEARL GREEN (O Chavez) which shifted out under pressure. O Chavez was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
For the majority of the race, JOLLY BANNER travelled wide and without cover.
Following the race, C Y Ho reported that after having to ride his mount along for some distance in the early stages to obtain a forward position, he commenced to steady the tempo on ENCOURAGING, however, his saddle shifted back making the first turn, causing him some inconvenience.
Following the race, A Domeyer reported that although obliged to race three wide in the early stages, WORLD RECORD had cover. He said however that near the 700 Metres when DUKE DA VEGA shifted out to his inside, this forced WORLD RECORD into a four wide position without cover which left the horse exposed some distance from the finish. He said WORLD RECORD consequently did not close off the race as expected and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection of MORETHANLUCKY and WORLD RECORD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOOD STANDING and MISSION TYCOON were sent for sampling.
<14/5/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>WORLD RECORD, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. WORLD RECORD was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A T Millard last Sunday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, WORLD RECORD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
