Racing Incident Report

WHISTLE UP began only fairly and then when being ridden along was crowded for room inside PEACE ON EARTH which was taken in by EXPONENTS. After this, from a wide barrier, WHISTLE UP was steadied and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. PEACE ON EARTH and EXPONENTS were also shifted across behind runners from the outside barriers to obtain cover in the early stages.
COUR VALANT began awkwardly and lost ground.
NASHASHUK shifted out at the start and brushed SHOWING CHARACTER.
STORM SOLDIER shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of CARRY TO WIN.
Shortly after the start, SHOW MISSION became unbalanced when bumped by STORM SOLDIER.
Passing the 700 Metres, GREAT SON and CARRY TO WIN raced tight.
Approaching the 100 Metres, SHOW MISSION shifted out away from the heels of WHISTLE UP and then when being shifted out further to obtain clear running was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NASHASHUK passing the 100 Metres. SHOW MISSION was shifted out further to obtain clear running after the 75 Metres.
Throughout the race, CARRY TO WIN travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that STORM SOLDIER had bled from both nostrils and that SHOWING CHARACTER was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SHOWING CHARACTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of GREAT SON and CARRY TO WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GREAT SON, SHOWING CHARACTER and EXPONENTS were sent for sampling.
