Racing Incident Report

SALUTATION was crowded for room on jumping between BINGO BINGO and CHARIZARD which shifted in. In this incident, BINGO BINGO became unbalanced after being bumped by SALUTATION and shifted in and bumped VAMOS. VAMOS was then tightened for room a short distance after the start between BINGO BINGO and NOWITZKI which was taken out by UNIVERSAL CROWN. VAMOS, BINGO BINGO, SALUTATION and CHARIZARD were all steadied after this to obtain cover.
From the outside barrier, WINNING ICEY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail.
LORIZ and SUPER COMMANDER bumped shortly after the start.
When being steadied to obtain cover approaching the 1100 Metres, BINGO BINGO was very awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOWITZKI.
Passing the 50 Metres, VAMOS improved into tight running inside the heels of HERO STAR.
After the race, K C Leung stated that he had to make considerable use of LORIZ in the early stages to obtain a forward position and the horse then travelled only fairly in the middle stages. He said at the 600 Metres LORIZ came off the bridle and despite being vigorously ridden after the 500 Metres did not respond to his riding. He added that in the Straight LORIZ finished the race off only fairly. He said he was of the opinion that the amount of use that he made of LORIZ in the early stages to obtain a forward position was the principal reason for the horse’s failure to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection of LORIZ immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, BINGO BINGO was found to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER COMMANDER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER COMMANDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
LORIZ, SHADOW RUNNER and HERO STAR were sent for sampling.
