Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
5 SPLENDID STAR (G026) Despite being ridden along in the early stages was unable to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 LOYAL AMBITION (E489) Jumped awkwardly and was checked shortly after the start when crowded. Was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages from a wide barrier. After the 400 Metres became held up behind SUPER JOY before shifting to that runner’s outside to improve. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 REGENCY HAPPY STAR (H248) Over the concluding stages lay out under pressure. When questioned, A Badel stated that his instructions were to obtain a midfield position early and he was given the option of making a mid-race move if circumstances permitted as REGENCY HAPPY STAR had performed well when ridden in this manner in the past. He added whilst the pace of the event was run inside of standard throughout the early and middle stages, entering the Back Straight he felt there was an opportunity to allow REGENCY HAPPY STAR to stride forward and as a result he shifted to the outside to allow his mount to cross and eventually lead from the 600 Metres.
3 PRESIDENT'S CHOICE (D038) Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped.
8 PRECISION GOAL (H016) Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded. Near the 600 Metres became unbalanced when crowded by REGENCY HAPPY STAR (A Badel) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. A Badel was severely reprimanded. A short distance later was then steadied when REGENCY HAPPY STAR crossed to the rail. A Badel was reprimanded and advised he must ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.
10 FORTUNE MASTER (D371) No report.
DH 1 CORDYCEPS ONE (E107) After the race, L Hewitson stated that his mount did not appreciate the early pace of the event being run inside of standard time. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of L Hewitson, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he rides his mounts out fully to the finish of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DH 4 UNITED ENDEAVORS (G030) No report.
11 SUPER JOY (G251) Slow to begin. After the race, M Chadwick reported that his mount over-raced throughout the event and refused to settle and he was placed at some disadvantage when the bit shifted in the horse’s mouth. He added as a result SUPER JOY was unable to finish the race off due to its racing manners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 GET THE MONIES (G168) Approaching the 500 Metres bumped with PERFECT ROCK when endeavouring to shift to the outside of NICE BIRDIE. Approaching the 300 Metres became held up behind NICE BIRDIE and was then shifted to that runner’s outside to secure clear running and raced tight between NICE BIRDIE and PERFECT ROCK for a short distance thereafter and made contact with PERFECT ROCK. After the race, L Ferraris reported that his mount raced keenly in the early stages and for some distance after the 1200 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from CORDYCEPS ONE. He added that the horse made an abnormal respiratory noise during the running of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, GET THE MONIES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
6 NICE BIRDIE (G470) After the race, K C Leung could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 PERFECT ROCK (G175) Bumped approaching the 300 Metres. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
