1 4 SUGAR SUGAR (G016) Trainer C Fownes confirmed that from the outside barrier he had instructed K H Chan to take up a forward position. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 9 CAPTAIN WIN (E466) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of DENFIELD to secure clear running. Then raced tight to the inside of ONE FOR ALL for some distance near the 150 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 3 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) Slow to begin.
4 8 DENFIELD (G471) In the middle stages raced keenly. Briefly held up after the 300 Metres and then approaching the 200 Metres raced tight between ONE FOR ALL and VIVA GRACIOUSNESS.
5 5 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) No report.
6 7 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) Passing the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded by JOYFUL HUNTER (A Atzeni) which, after initially shifting in and being corrected by its rider, then again shifted in when being steadied away from SUGAR SUGAR. A Atzeni was severely reprimanded.
7 2 JOYFUL HUNTER (H198) Kicked a rail on entering the Parade Ring, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from DENFIELD. After the race, A Atzeni stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the event but after being placed under pressure entering the Home Straight did not quicken as he had anticipated and finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 1 EASON (G061) No report.
9 6 ACE ONE (G196) No report.
10 10 ONE FOR ALL (G012) Jumped awkwardly. After the race, B Thompson reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, ONE FOR ALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
