2 1 KING ECCELLENTE (G264) When questioned, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that from a wide barrier he was requested to take up a forward position on his mount. Trainer D J Whyte confirmed the instructions issued. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 10 SO AWESOME (D258) No report.
4 12 CHEER FOR SOUTH (H178) No report.
5 8 TALENTS SUPREMO (H133) Slow to begin. After the race, B Avdulla reported that his left leg made contact with the barrier on jumping.
6 9 COUNTRY DANCER (H436) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and was checked away from SUPER TAICHI.
7 4 HAPPY SOUL (G249) Crowded on jumping. For a short distance after the 500 Metres raced tight to the inside of OUR LUCKY GLORY and brushed the running rail. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY SOUL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

9 7 GALE SAGA (J152) No report.
10 11 DIAMOND SOARS (G201) Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
11 2 ROMANTIC NOVELIST (J167) Brushed a rail when entering the Parade Ring, examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
12 3 ERNEST FEELING (E209) Jumped only fairly. After the race, A Hamelin stated that despite riding his mount along in the early stages it settled slightly further back than anticipated. He added however ERNEST FEELING failed to travel throughout the race and disappointed in its failure to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ERNEST FEELING was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, ERNEST FEELING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
