Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 5 FLAMING RABBIT (H257) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 1 THE GOLDEN SCENERY (E379) For some distance approaching the 1100 Metres raced tight to the inside of SUPERB BOY which initially raced in restricted room to the inside of ALL FOR ST PAUL’S. At the 1100 Metres SUPERB BOY (A Badel) shifted in when not quite clear of THE GOLDEN SCENERY, resulting in THE GOLDEN SCENERY having to steady to avoid the heels of SUPERB BOY. A Badel was severely reprimanded. Shifted out after the 1100 Metres and made contact with RISING FROM ASHES for some distance thereafter. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 4 MUGEN (H338) When questioned, H Bowman stated that his instructions were to endeavour to have MUGEN settle in the early stages as it was stepping up to 1600 Metres for the first time. He stated that MUGEN jumped only fairly and he allowed the horse to settle towards the rear of the field where it travelled comfortably. He added that from the 600 Metres he commenced to allow MUGEN to improve into the event and was able to secure clear running after the 500 Metres. He further stated that MUGEN initially responded to his riding but after improving to the outside of THE GOLDEN SCENERY near the 200 Metres finished the race off in a one-paced manner and, in his opinion, may not have run out a strong 1600 Metres. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions on the basis that MUGEN had raced a little keenly after being ridden along in the early stages at its last start and the fact that it was stepping up to 1600 Metres. Mr Ng expressed satisfaction with the manner in which H Bowman rode the horse today and agreed with Jockey Bowman that MUGEN may not have run out a strong 1600 Metres and his intention would be to drop it back in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 2 ALL FOR ST PAUL'S (C517) Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and was corrected by its rider.
5 3 RUNNING GLORY (G010) Shortly after the start was crowded between RISING FROM ASHES and ALL FOR ST PAUL’S which shifted in as it was being corrected by its rider M F Poon.
6 7 SUPERB BOY (G335) After the race, A Badel stated that his mount raced a little keenly in the early stages but failed to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 RISING FROM ASHES (G209) Crowded on jumping. After the 1100 Metres THE GOLDEN SCENERY shifted to the outside of SUPERB BOY, resulting in RISING FROM ASHES being taken wider and SUPERB BOY and RISING FROM ASHES making contact for some distance thereafter. Approaching the 400 Metres was steadied away from MUGEN which shifted out and away from THE GOLDEN SCENERY.
