1 11 BOXING DAY (CA284) E Saint-Martin -- Broke briefly and niggled along to sit behind leader on fence. Near the 1000 M was checked when crowded, soon 2nd to tear away leader. Commenced to make ground 200 M out and overhauled the 2nd placegetter in the concluding stages.
2 1 WELL EXPRESS (BV023) M Cahill B Jumped well and rider soon lost the use of his left side iron lead through to closing stages and was caught by the winner in the concluding stages.
3 4 ABLE MARSHALL (CB336) W C Marwing -- Jumped fairly from wide draw and raced in mid-division briefly. Soon dropped to worse than midfield 3 to 4-wide entering straight. Responded well to pressure and ran on well to grabbed 3rd place on the line.
4 3 SALUT BEAUTE (CB189) D Dunn -- Raced on rail 4 to 5Ls off pace through to straight, all out 3Ls down 250 M out and made up some ground but was caught on the line by 3rd placegetter.
5 2 KING'S PATROL (CB097) K H Ting -- Did not break well and soon raced in rear section on inner. Gradually improved to midfield on inner in the latter part of the home turn and made up some late ground.
6 12 WINNING WAYS (CB017) H K Yim B Slowly away from wide. Soon dropped to rear section through to straight. Under pressure 250 M out and closed off quite strongly but was inconvenienced near the winning post.
7 10 ACE OF PACE (BV131) Y T Cheng -- Jumped well and prominent briefly. Soon raced mainly in midfield through to straight. Under pressure 300 M out unable to find any extra and stayed one-paced to the line.
8 8 MUNDAHISH (BT250) M W Leung V Jumped well raced 4 to 5-wide in midfield and was bumped around 1000 M. Kept in similar position. Same paced in the straight.
9 7 HIGH POTENTIAL (CB042) G Schofield -- Jumped fairly and came together with another runner. Midfield briefly. Steadily dropped to rear section 2-wide 600 M out. Found nothing in the straight.
10 5 GOLD CHARM (BV085) G Mosse B Missed the start and raced wide most of the way towards the rear. Did not respond well to pressure in straight and only able to run past couple of beaten runners.
11 9 HORACE'S HORSE (CB043) S Dye -- On jumping bounded in the air and became unbalanced. Soon raced in the rear position through to straight. About the 200 M checked when disappointed for running and found nothing after that.
12 6 KALIMANTAN (CB262) W M Lai -- Broke briefly then came together with another runner. Niggled along to be 3 to 4-wide better than midfield. Rounding the home turn and in the straight hung out, no impression in straight.
