4 6 SOUTH CHINA NINETY (CA174) W M Lai B Began fairly and was niggled along to be near midfield at 1000 M. On rails and 2Ls down rounding home turn. Ran on but was not a threat to winner.
5 8 ENGINEERING WONDER (CB300) D Whyte -- Jumped slowly and was near rear soon. Moved up and settled 2-wide near midfield from 800 M. Made the home turn awkwardly and lost some ground. Made up little in straight.

7 2 GLORIOUS LIGHT (CC115) H K Yim -- Soon settled at rear section and remained there throughout back straight. 3-wide and 6Ls or 7Ls behind pace turning for home. Made up some ground in the straight.
8 10 THE GRAND ROOF (CB083) E Saint-Martin TT1 Broke fairly but soon dropped back to rear section. On rails and 8Ls down at 400 M out. Ridden hard but unable to quicken in straight.
9 7 CHAMPION WINNER (CB458) D Dunn SR- Ridden to be near pace early. Remained 2-wide and 2Ls to 3Ls behind pace in back straight. One-paced to line.
10 1 FOREVER WIN (CC069) S K Sit -- Jumped awkwardly from wide draw and was at rear. Remained at rear throughout back straight. On straightening was severely checked. Ran past couple of weakening runners in the straight.
11 12 LOVE ON EARTH (BT110) Y T Cheng -- Settled 4-wide at rear section early. Moved up to midfield at 600 M. Widest turning in and weakening final 200 M.
12 9 PROFIT DAY (BV335) K C Tsang -- Broke well and settled on rails near midfield until entering straight. Did not respond under pressure and commenced to weaken final stages.
