2 13 BOWIN (CB398) D Whyte -- Broke fairly and settled in midfield on rail. Checked near 1200 M and dropped to worse than midfield. Made steady progress from the outside at home turn. Ran on well and hit the lead at 200 M. Just failed.
3 5 SEASONS TREASURE (CB310) P H Lo -- Slowly away and soon raced at the tail 2 wide. Switched wide and made little headway turning for home. No clear running early straight. Made up good ground when obtaining clear running 200 M out.
4 3 NOBLE MAN (CC099) A Delpech -- Jumped fairly from wide draw and soon settled in midfield 3 wide. Made up steady ground at home turn to be 1-1/2Ls off leader on straightening. Ran on fairly when asked 400 M but was overhauled by the 3rd near the line.
5 1 KOWLOON STAR (CC233) A Marcus B Began awkwardly and niggled along to race in a forward position out wide. Shortly after the 1000 M took outright lead and crossed to the rail. Kept on fairly when asked 300 M out but slightly weakened over the concluding stages.
6 4 INSIDE MAIL (CD138) G Mosse -- Began fairly and niggled to race in midfield on rail. Around the 600 M whilst proving difficult to settle was awkwardly placed on heels. Made up some ground early straight but steadily became one paced 200 M.
7 6 SUPER PRINCE (CD126) F Coetzee CP/TT1 Niggled along to take lead and steadily crossed to the rail. Around the 1000 M eased back to race 1-1/2Ls off leader through to straight. Unable to go up a gear when asked 350 M out and kept on same pace to the line.
8 14 TRIUMPHANT GLORY (CB368) W Smith B1 Began fairly and ridden along to race in better than midfield on rail. After the 800 M was checked away from heels and dropped back to worse than midfield. Kept on same pace to the line when asked 350 M out.
9 10 EXULTATION (BV223) Y T Cheng -- On jumping got its head up and lost ground. Settled in the rear section on rail. Switched out and crept clear to the pack turning for home. From the 400 M was short for room, only ran on evenly to the line clear 250 M out.
10 12 AURELIAN (CC025) D Dunn H- Jumped well from wide draw and pushed along to race in a forward position 2 to 3 wide through to straight. Shortly after straightening was crowded for room, found nothing after that and steadily faded out.
11 8 NATIVE LANGUAGE (CB116) R Fradd B/SR1 Jumped well and steadily eased to worse than midfield around 3 wide. Made little headway from the outside turning for home. Stayed on same pace when asked 400 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M.
12 11 FLASH HARRY (CB180) D Boeuf SR Shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room and raced towards the rear. After the 1000 M went forward from the outside to be sharing the lead turning for home. Found nothing when asked 400 M out.
13 7 ROUND THE WORLD (CA227) S Dye B Broke well and was quickly eased back to the rear section 3 wide. Switched to the widest on straightening to find clear running but failed to make up any ground.
14 9 DOUBLE DIP (CD217) W M Lai -- Niggled along to race in better than midfield 2 wide through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 400 M out and dropped out steadily inside final 200 M.
