2 1 MILLENNIUM SPIRIT (BV221) Y Lerner P/TT Soon eased to the back on rail, near the 500 M was checked when disappointed for running. At rear on straightening and took a while to obtain clear running. Made up good ground inside final 200 M but just failed to catch the winner.
3 4 NASA PEARL (CC068) R Fradd B Tardy start and pushed along to race in midfield on rail. Steadily switched to the outside turning for home to find clear running. All out 350 M out and made good progress but unable to match speed with 1st pair in the final stages.
4 14 STOIC (BT155) C Williams -- Began fairly and steadily settled in midfield or worse around 2 to 3 wide. Made little headway from the outside turning for home. Ran on fairly when asked 350 M out but failed to keep up with placegetters in the closing stages.
5 3 CZAR OF PRUSSIA (CB378) D Whyte -- Jumped fairly and ridden along to race in prominent position 2 wide through to straight. Responded fairly when asked 350 M out but became one-pace inside the final 150 M.
6 2 TEMMOKU (BV108) A Starke -- Began well and race in midfield but became unbalanced passing winning post the 1st time. Dropped to the rear section 2 wide, switched wide on straightening and made up little ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
7 6 SUPER SPRINT (CA274) T Mundry V Broke well from wide draw and hard ridden along to race 1/2L off leaders 3 wide from around the 1100 M. Took slender lead turning for home, kept on fairly in straight but was headed near the 200 M and weakened thereafter.
8 13 GOODWOOD (CA167) W M Lai -- Jumped well and niggled along to race in better than midfield on rail through to straight. Had trouble finding clear running in the early to middle part of straight. Only able to run on evenly when running was obtained 200 M out.
9 8 SHINING DRAGON (CC181) W Woods SR Began awkwardly from wide draw and steadily settled in midfield or better 2 wide through to straight. Under pressure 350 M out but unable to quicken and weakened closing stages.
9 12 ASSET PLAY (CC147) S Dye -- Began well and soon raced in a prominent position 2 wide through to straight. Only able to run on evenly when asked 350 M out and slightly weakened inside final 150 M.
11 7 WHATA FEELING (CB267) G Mosse B Hard ridden along in the early stages to take lead on rail. Joined by another runner down the back straight, headed near the 400 M mark. No extra in straight and steadily dropped out inside final 200 M.
12 5 LUCKY STALLION (CA249) P Payne B Soon eased to the rear section on rail through to straight. Failed to make any impression when asked 350 M out.
13 10 ARROGANCE (CA177) M Rodd B Began well from wide draw and hard ridden along to race in a forward position 2 wide. Soon after the 1200 M went forward to share lead. Under pressure at home bend to maintain position, dropped out in straight.
14 9 WISE CHOICE (CB297) G Schofield -- Tardy start and pushed along to race in midfield 2 wide. Commenced to give ground rounding the home bend. Made no impression in straight.
