3 3 TOP SCORER (CE110) R Fradd -- Over-raced out 3 and sometimes 4-wide no cover when 2Ls down in 3rd, 3Ls down in 3rd at 800 M, closer and with every chance off home turn, a close 2nd at 200 M when hard ridden, no extra.
4 8 BARAKA (CD284) Y T Cheng -- One from rear 7Ls off speed at 1400 M, in rear and 4-wide no cover at 1200 M, gained cover but 8Ls last at 800 M and into home straight, stayed on quite well through beaten horses, never nearer. (See Racing Incidents.)
5 2 SOLAR POWER (CE047) A Delpech SR 8Ls last at 1400 M, still towards rear and 6Ls off pace when 3-wide on straightening, stayed on fairly, nearest at finish.
6 6 SUPER HONEY (CE187) D Whyte -- 2-wide and 4Ls behind lead in 5th or 6th down the back, closer and dangerous on straightening, all out to be 1L down in 4th at 200 M, one-paced closing stages.

9 10 LEGIONNAIRE (CD263) F Coetzee SR-/CP1/TT1 Close-up 2-wide and 1L down in 2nd at 1200 M, over 2Ls down in 2nd at 800 M but closer again at final bend, all out to be a neck 3rd at 200 M, weakened.
10 14 SMARTY (CE036) H W Lai -- Never travelled well, niggled along on fence when 6Ls off speed in 9th or so at 1000 M, under pressure to take closer order into home straight, found nothing.
