7 PLEASURE PLEASURE (CD271) G Mosse B/TT Best away, settled 3-wide no cover when 2Ls off pace in 3rd from 800 M to home turn, pressed on to be a narrow leader 300 M out, always just holding a short head margin to the line.
12 KIWI DASH (CC281) S Dye B-/TT- 4-wide with cover down backstretch when about 5Ls behind leader in rear, briefly 5-wide no cover on circle but headway to go 1L down in 4th at 200 M, stayed on well without wresting lead.
3 BIG WINNER (CD229) D Dunn B1/TT 2-wide and 3Ls off pace in 5th from 1000 M to home straight, 1L down in same position at 200 M, had every chance to get through but just outpaced by quinella pair inside final 50 M.
4 GOLD MASTER (CC365) E Saint-Martin TT Had the box-seat run on fence 2Ls off pace in 4th from 1200 M to home straight, held up from 400 M to about 100 M, ran on well once in the clear but too late, unlucky.
1 FAT DRAGON (CD130) R Fradd B- Raced too freely early on when 2-wide in midfield about 3Ls off speed, lost position from 600 M to homestretch and without a clear run from 400 M to 200 M, ran on OK once clear but too late. (See Racing Incidents.)
6 AWESOME EAGLE (CE077) K W Tsui TT Over-raced early 3-back on fence in midfield about 4Ls off pace, similar spot entering homestretch when short of room, made some minor late ground without troubling principals.
13 WIN DANCER (CC357) F Coetzee TT Always 4-wide no cover though within 3Ls of leader in midfield until final bend, kept on at same pace until line.
8 PAY-DAY (CD182) G Schofield SR/TT 2-wide and 1L back in 2nd from 1000 M to top of home straight, disputing the lead at 250 M marker, weakened close home.
5 GOLDEN MILE (CD264) C K Tong V Led by 1L from 1300 M to top of home straight, headed 250 M out, swamped late.
2 TURF GOLD (CD342) D Whyte B 5Ls off pace in 10th or so at 1000 M, similarly placed taking final turn, no clear passage at 200 M and near 100 M when about 3Ls off the pace, could draw no closer once clear.
11 METRO LEADER (CE005) H W Lai -- 4-back on fence towards rear about 5Ls off speed at 1000 M, under pressure and still worse than midfield turning in homestretch, no impression.
14 PREMIER BURG (CC137) Y T Cheng B/TT Always in the rear bunch, about 5Ls off pace but with cover at 1000 M, further back tackling home corner, never remotely dangerous.
10 COSMO STAR (CA260) W C Marwing SR-/V1/TT 8Ls last at 1200 M, never got much closer than that.
9 BE MY BRIDE (CD318) O Doleuze BO Worse than midfield about 4Ls off the speed at 1000 M, 5-wide entering home straight when 7Ls down in 13th, weakened out. (Bled.)
