10 REGENCY HORSE (CE229) F Coetzee B/TT Broke with them, ridden hard to hold spot on rail in early stages, eventually drove through to settle behind leader, had run of race to turn, angled into clear 300 M and took over at 200 M and held on for hard fought win.
5 HELENE PILLAGING (CC084) C K Tong TT Began with rest, pushed along to hold midfield spot, settled 3 to 4Ls away 2 wide in mid-section, eased 3 wide from 600 M, made 4 wide run on turn, closed strongly under hands and heels only to run down all but winner.
8 FOKINE (CE072) Y T Cheng TT Average to begin, settled down worse than midfield, always 3 wide 6 to 7Ls away with cover, pushed along to track into race on turn, not a lot of free room in straight but closed race off nicely late to narrowly miss 2nd.
11 ABSOLUTE CHAMPION (CE060) B Prebble -- Fair to break, lacked early speed, assumed usual rearward position, raced on rails 6 to 7Ls from pace, tracked into race nicely on turn, came with good run (hanging) between horses in straight making up many lengths late.
3 THE DUKE (CB282) C Munce -- Average to jump, unable to muster pace from inside alley, raced on rails 5Ls away just worse than midfield, always niggled along to turn, stuck to rails in straight, kept to task well without threatening winner.
2 BILLET EXPRESS (CD140) A Delpech -- Fast into stride, pressed forward to hold prime position 1 out 1 back 2 to 3Ls away, niggled along on turn, gained clear run at 300 M but couldn't find when pressured and kept same pace to line. Not fully comfortable.
12 ADAIKALI (CE181) D Whyte CP Broke well, showed great pace to challenge for early lead (good clip) applied pressure at leader's girth, travelled well on turn, laid down challenge and hit lead briefly at 200 M but early workload told and couldn't sustain effort.
4 PLANET RULER (CB359) G Mosse -- Bounced out, unable to match them early, drifted back to midfield 5 to 6Ls away, always 3 wide and doing plenty of work, forced 4 wide and began to lose touch on turn, only battled to line making no headway.
1 NATURAL BLITZ (CE227) R Fradd -- Fast to break, showed pace to be part of speed battle early, held lead and dictated terms in front, kept going to be 1L clear on turning, tried to dash but collared at 200 M and weakened badly from that point.
9 NOBLE CRUSADER (CD286) G Schofield TT Slow to begin, pushed along to go forward, raced near tail 7Ls away in 2 wide spot, always niggled along in mid section, still well back on turn, made run between horses but never really comfortable, made no impression.
7 FIGURES (CC307) H W Lai SR Blundered at start, quickly got going thereafter to be prominent early, unable to slot in and raced 3 wide without cover in mid section, did plenty of work to turn, unable to find when asked at 300 M and dropped right out last 200 M.
6 HIGH INTELLIGENT (CD317) D Dunn B Awkward to jump, unable to get going early, positioned at rear 3 wide 7 to 8Ls away, began to lose touch on turn, offered nothing in run home. Never comfortable in going. Pay? to ignore.
