4 9 SPY KING (CE205) K L Chui CP 2-wide among leaders. Took a sit to race behind the pace after 800 M. Swung out on straightening and kept on fairly in the closing stages.
5 8 MASTER YING (CB249) K S Yu B Best out but raced wide among leaders. Remained wide in a forward position until home straight. Unable to turn up a notch and only kept same pace to finish.
6 11 PRIME MOVER (CG028) D Dunn TT Botched the start but soon recovered. On fence and better than midfield. Travelled well and was in a prominent position behind the pacesetter making home turn. Kept on before fading inside final 200 M.
7 6 SUGAR AND SON (CE264) D Whyte -- Checked on jumping and raced in a rearward position. Niggled along in the back straight and advanced to be closer to midfield entering the 600 M turn. Only stayed on same pace in the straight.
8 5 HARVEY MUDD (CC295) C K Tong TT Jumped fairly and steadily dropped behind midfield. Kept on fairly in the straight.
9 7 GLOBE RIVER (CD228) K T Yeung B- Outpaced and steadily dropped to a rearward position. Trailed field into home straight and made up some ground.
10 2 HAPPY MASTER (CE050) W M Lai SR Just behind the pace early but was checked to midfield after 1100 M. Niggled along to keep pace at midfield in middle stages. 3-wide turning for home but lacked the needed rally in the straight.
11 12 SOUND OF SILENCE (CD136) C Munce -- Steadily dropped to the rear and trailed field. Remained in a rearward position turning for home and only ran past a beaten runner.
12 1 DANEMAN HILL (CD374) B Prebble P/XB Raced among leaders. 3-wide and held a narrow advantage in the middle stages. Commenced to lose touch making home turn and then weakened in the straight.
