2 8 RED WINE HONEY (CE287) S K Sit B Missed the jump but was ridden along to be behind midfield. Took some time to pick up after straightening but showed a strong closing run in the final 200 M.
3 1 FUJIAN PRINCE (CE006) F Coetzee SR/TT Settled prominently behind the leader. Kept on well in the straight but unable to draw closer in the final stages.
4 9 BIG KAHUNA (CG177) O Doleuze B 2-wide behind midfield. Swung widest turning for home. Made a strong rally in the straight despite having to be straightened by rider on a number of occasions and was closest at finish.
5 7 STRAIGHT VICTORY (CE328) B Prebble B/TT Raced along the rails in midfield. Switched out on straightening and quickened well. Kept on nicely but couldn't muster more in the final stages.
6 3 MEATH (CE143) G Mosse CP Allowed to drop back from wide draw. Remained racing in rear section making the turn. Rallied and made up ground in the straight.
7 5 QUALITY-QUALITY (CE250) M Nunes -- Raced 2-wide at midfield. Switched out and raced wide turning for home. Remained on same pace in the straight.
8 6 MYTHIC STEED (CD208) M W Leung B/H Missed the jump and trailed field until the turn. Hugged the rails turning in and only ran past tired runners in the straight.
9 11 CHAMP DRAGON (CB278) C K Tong TT Raced 3-wide in a forward position. Unable to keep up making home turn and weakened in the straight.
10 4 BARRACUDA (CB320) H W Lai -- Ridden to stay alongside the leader early and middle stages. Continued to be pushed along turning for home to keep pace in front but weakened after straightening. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 10 WORLD SERIES (CG121) K W Tsui B1 Kept with 3Ls of the pace until home straight. Steadied in traffic at 300 M and unable to quicken thereafter. Weakened final stages.
12 12 GLOBAL WAY (CG158) D Nikolic B-/H1 Wide without cover at midfield early. Gradually dropped back after 1200 M and was trailing field turning for home. Made no impression thereafter.
