11 PIONERO (CD402) S Dye -- Away nicely, showed dash under riding to hold leaders back, had an easy trip with trail throughout appreciating slow tempo, poised to strike and peeled out on bend, took control at 150 M and drew away for an easy win.
2 TACTIC KING (CG081) G Mosse B/TT Bounced out, lead them easily, dictated terms 1L clear throughout at a moderate tempo, began to increase the speed from Rock and had them chasing on turning, kicked 2Ls clear but no match for winner last 150 M.
10 EASY PUNCH (CB276) D Nikolic -- Began well enough, settled closer than usual 3Ls back on rails in midfield, had an easy time in mid-section but travelled a little keenly, urged along on bend, kept to rail and made good ground but lacked the finish of last time.
8 MATIRI KING (CE266) Y T Cheng -- Moderate to begin, urged along to drive through to end up in 1 out 1 back role, had run of race thereafter with favourable tempo, niggled along on bend, didn't show much turn of foot sticking on only fairly to make frame.
3 AMSTERDAM (CE140) A Starke XB/H/TT Standard break, held a rails position early, raced behind midfield throughout 4-5Ls back, not asked to bend, pace against but gradually improved saving ground on fence and kept coming to be nearest on line.
9 CARRY GOOD NEWS (CG219) W M Lai -- Began evenly and showed some speed but caught 4-wide early from a wide alley, posted wide to mid-point before slotting in 4Ls back, had fair run to bend but found little at business end making only moderate headway in straight.
5 BEAR DOMINANCE (CD235) C Soumillon B/TT Shade tardy to begin, didn't have early speed and ended up next to last in 3-wide line, always covering ground 5-6Ls back but had cover throughout, under pressure on bend, came wide and made some ground but never really threatened.
6 MILLENNIUM SPIRIT (BV221) B Prebble -- Standard getaway, drifted back to last with little early pace, raced on rails 7Ls from them throughout, not asked but still had field in front on circle, came very wide and didn't have much room but passed some tired runners late.
1 GOLD FIELD (CC096) F Coetzee B Out with them but soon took up expected role sharing tail, raced 2-wide 7Ls from them, still well back on bend and forced widest in straight, closed only at one-speed despite giving too great a start.
4 KOWLOON FIT (CE247) A Delpech -- Well enough to begin, showed early pace to assume role outside leader, had a reasonable trip with the leisurely pace, at leaders girth on bend and niggled when tempo increased, found little turning in and folded tamely 200 M.
7 GRAND CENTRAL (CG160) K T Yeung XB/TT Reasonable beginning, went forward but caught 3-wide without cover outside leaders, had a hard run doing plenty of work to bend, under pressure on turning and stopped quickly when effects of hard run took toll.
12 BRILLIANT ONE (CG212) M Nunes B/TT Began in line, slotted in off speed in midfield, shuffled back a touch in running line to be 6Ls from them passing Rock, didn't have a response when asked on bend and just plodded away in straight.
